Firenze, the capital of Tuscany, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but more importantly the birthplace of the Renaissance and the wealthiest -- monetary and culturally at its peak. There are not many cities in the world whose own skyline that has not taken some architecture from Florence.

Besides the affluent Medici clan, Florence was also home to world renown Italians that would shape the history and culture of the country: Dante, Botticelli, Machiavelli, Michelangelo and Galileo to name just a few of the hundreds.
